The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged - By The Reduced Shakespeare Company
A farce accomplishing all of Shakespeare's plays and sonnets in 97 minutes- an acting tour de force! Bring a memorized comedic monologue, no more than 3 minutes (optional, but highly recommended). We will email you sides, as well, when you sign up for a slot. Characters: Actor 1- M or F, Late Teens to Late 20’s “Daniel” Often leads the show, the arguable “straight man” of the group, the most level headed. Actor 2- M or F Late Teens to Late 20’s“Jess” A “pre-eminent Shakespearean scholar,” he often provides background on the plays he sometimes knows little about, and plays many roles in the different sketches the troupe puts on. Often overdramatic, and over the top. Actor 3- M or F, Late Teens or Early 20’s “Adam” Exactly the opposite of Jess when it comes to information, Adam relies on Wikipedia, and sometimes isn’t totally in to the performance. All of the women he plays are in a similar wig and vomit frequently because of his feeling that “layers make [a character] too complex” Email flyingmuskrats@gmail.com if you're interested in any of the shows. The subject line should read: "SHOW, ROLE, Name" Example- if Mike Smith was auditioning for Daniel in Complete Works, he would write "COMPLETE WORKS, DANIEL, Mike Smith" Attach a headshot and resume if you have either. If you do not, attach a recent photo of yourself. In the body of the email, let us know what day works best for you, and we will reply with a time to show up. Put All roles you are interested in and all shows in the subject line. |
